Feral cat colonies require a lot of food. And cat food is expensive. These colonies also yield a number of cats and kittens who require care. Many of these collected cats return to their colonies ready to live a managed life, while others go on to find forever homes. Shelters like Gleaning the World in Virginia work hard to make this happen for all the kitties they meet. Their goal for cats is a healthy life with plenty of food. But they couldn’t manage to feed all these kitties without your help.

When you shop with iHeartCats, every single purchase funds donations for felines in need. Whether you purchase a cute cat shirt for yourself or supplements for your cat, that cart full of goodies gives compassion. Through our partnership with Greater Good Charities and their GOODS Program, we ensure shelter cats receive food and other necessities while waiting for their forever home. The GOODS Program distributes pet food to shelters and rescues across the country and has been keeping hungry bellies full for over a decade.

Feeding Felines with Good Food

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads of necessities provided to animals in need! But it’s about more than filling bowls. It’s about doing everything possible to save feline lives. And here’s one tale about two sweet ginger kittens who owe it all to teamwork.

“On a recent visit to Gleaning For The World’s warehouse in Concord, Virginia, Furrever Friends Lodge Director, Mary Huffman, was carrying a small carrier with her,” shared Jeane of Gleaning the World. “Inside was a warm blanket and 4, very fragile kittens, which Mary was feeding every two hours.”

“The pregnant, feral mother had been recently trapped and removed from a large, commercial barn due to high volume traffic. Soon after, the kittens were born, but unfortunately momma cat stopped nursing altogether. While she was receiving medical care herself, Mary took over the role of mom.”

As we know, not all the kitties can be saved because sometimes illness and injury overwhelm their malnourished bodies. In this case, the mama cat and two babies didn’t make it. And like Mary told Jeane, “This sadness breaks your heart ‘but comes with the work we do.'”

But struggling against the odds, two of the four kittens made it and are “doing well.” These happy little kittens are growing up strong with their little tummies stuffed full of good food you helped provide. And the good news?

“Soon, they will be ready for their ‘furrever homes!'”

Whether In Homes or Colonies

These orange cuties were found thanks to feral cat colony care, and Gleaning the World reveals that much of their food goes to these wild kitties. The donated food is so appreciated.

“As a recipient of the GOODS Program, we have received cat and kitten food on several occasions that we use for our rescues, but we also help support community’ cat colony’ caretakers. These are usually limited income people who take care of anywhere from 5 to 30 homeless cats every day. We donate food and supplies to support them.”

And those feral cats sure are happy to see those snacks! So, even though you don’t see these cats, you and GOODS are giving them better lives.

“Our partnership with Gleaning and Greater Good Charities allows us to provide more assistance to people in our community than we could do on our own. And with Mutt Nation providing free food, that helps us even more! We’re very, very grateful!”

With that in mind, go ahead and treat yourself to something cute; you’ve earned it for being a cat hero! Every purchase fills food bowls.

Like so many cats that arrive in rescue care, Mateo was in rough shape. This scared ginger cat arrived underweight and malnourished from living as a stray. His life before the Friends of Metro Shelters in Oklahoma found him may be a mystery, but one thing is certain. He suffered from being hungry and alone—a fate no feline deserves. But because you shop with purpose, you’re giving cats like Mateo a second chance to fill their bellies in homes that love them.

Doing Good to Give Cats the Dream

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads of necessities provided to animals in need! But it’s about more than filling bowls and toys. Because of these donations, more cats get a chance at life with a family that loves them. As one of these kitties, Mateo is so thankful for the teamwork that turned his life from sadness to a dream come true.

Because Mateo arrived at Friends of Metro needing some fattening up, he spent time in one of their loving foster homes. While snacking on food and playing with toys from GOODS, Mateo charmed his foster family. Now, Friends is happy to label this sweet orange cat a “foster fail who is living the dream.”

And the Friends of Metro rescue group is so happy to be part of the goodness, explaining, “Through the GOODS Program, we have been able to provide items such as comfortable and clean beds for pets to rest in.”

“Those, along with toys, help us engage with them to help them learn to trust people and ready them for adoption.”

As Mateo shows us, these donations make all the difference to a cat in need. So, don’t feel guilty for splurging on that new hoodie you’re eyeing! You’re saving lives with your excellent taste!

Look at Tuxedo cats, Juan and Alberto. Aren’t they just the most handsome set of brothers? These well-dressed kitties are a bonded pair who adore each other. They’re celebrating their recent adoption, and you were a huge part in giving them this gift of forever together because you have great taste and shop with purrpose. When you shop with iHeartCats, every single purchase funds donations for felines in need. Whether you purchase a cute cat shirt for yourself or supplements for your cat, that cart full of goodies gives compassion.

Good Life Together Thanks To Teamwork

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads of necessities provided to animals in need! But it’s about more than filling bowls. Because of these donations, Northport Cat Rescue Association can help more kitties find their homes.

As a cat lover, you know a home with a cat is a happy home. And a home with two cats is heaven! That’s just what Juan and Alberto are teaching their new family.

These Tuxedo brothers and their super cute faces are quite the silly pair who love to play. And here’s a fun fact about Juan: he has six toes! To know them is to simply adore them. But for all their adorability, the boys were overlooked for adoption for the longest time.

“They waited for months in the shelter without a single adoption application,” said Northport Cat Rescue Association.

Adopting out a bonded pair can be a challenge for shelters and rescues, as many people only come to adopt one cat. But after months of waiting, the brothers were adopted together. Sometimes it can take a minute to find what’s meant to be, but thanks to the love and dedication of the cat lovers at Northport, Alberto and Juan were able to wait for their purrfect situation. You helped this happen by funding the donations that filled their food bowls.

Because we work together, more cats get a second chance.

“The GOODS Program has been a Godsend to Northport Cat Rescue. We rarely turn away cats that need all kinds of care and feeding them is a big part of that care.”

Northport and so many other rescues need you to keep shopping so we can keep saving lives. So, treat yourself and help cats in need!

Many cats arrive in rescue care in need of medical attention. Some cats need vaccines and surgery to be spayed or neutered, while others are seriously ill or injured and require extensive care. Either way, vet bills aren’t cheap in the rescue world. And neither is food. But with initiatives, like the GOODS Program, animal shelters and rescues receive much-needed food donations that help save cash for medical treatments. Buddy the cat is proof of the good work in action. He enjoyed bowls of tasty donated food while healing from major surgery under the care of the Pet Adoption & Welfare Services of Oklahoma (PAWS).

But what is GOODS? The GOODS Program is a pet food distribution initiative in the Greater Good Charities family that has been keeping hungry bellies full for over a decade. To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals! And you played a huge part in ensuring those trucks rolled out because you shop purposefully.

Shopping To Save Cats

When you shop with iHeartCats, every single purchase funds donations for felines in need. Whether you purchase a cute cat shirt for yourself or supplements for your cat, that cart full of goodies gives compassion. Through our partnership with Greater Good Charities and the GOODS Program, we ensure shelter cats receive food and other necessities while waiting for their forever homes. And Buddy the cat wants to thank you for your generosity because you helped him find his forever.

“Buddy was a young community cat living on the streets of OKC when he was injured, most likely hit by a car,” shared PAWS. “His colony manager called PAWS-OK when she found him limping, and our director picked him up.”

“Our great vet at Rockwell Pet Clinic saw him immediately and found his leg with multiple fractures, which were pinned with three rods. He convalesced in a PAWS-OK foster home for many months.”

During those many months, he ate a healthy diet of donated food that helped him heal. When the time came for adoption, Buddy quickly found his family, the rescue revealing, “He found a new home with a wonderful woman and her son who bonded immediately with Buddy’s shy personality.”

Because PAWS had that good food to pass out to their kitties, they had the cash needed to patch up Buddy and get him family-ready.

“Without the GOODS Program’s support/ the rescue would not have the funds needed to take care of cats in need like Buddy.”

But it all starts with you. Those donations wouldn’t make it to Buddy or any of the other kitties in need if you didn’t have such a generous heart. So, keep shopping and give more cats a chance to find their forever homes!

Food insecurity is a huge problem in America. Statistics reveal that 44 million Americans, from child to adult, are food insecure. Another startling number? One hundred percent of counties across our fifty states report hungry citizens, meaning hunger touches every corner of the country. And it’s not just people who struggle to eat. Their pets do, too. With roughly two-thirds of U.S. homes having cats and dogs, many families struggle to provide regular meals for their furry ones and often turn to sharing human food with their pets.

But thanks to you, families can stay together and provide their kitties and doggies with the balanced pet food they need. When you shop with iHeartCats, every single purchase funds donations for felines in need. Whether you purchase a cute cat shirt for yourself or supplements for your cat, that cart full of goodies gives compassion. Through our partnership with Greater Good Charities, we ensure shelter cats receive food and other necessities while waiting for their forever home.

Good Work Keeps Families Together

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals! But it’s not just about the food. GOODS makes sure cats and dogs remain with the families who love them. And as a recipient of these donations, the Gilmer Community Food Pantry is so thankful to be part of keeping families together.

The Gilmer Food Pantry is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to relieving the stress and burdens of food insecurity in their Georgia community. In 2023, the pantry served more than 400 families, ensuring that both people and their precious pets could eat. The GOODS program is a vital part of their operation.

“The GOODS Program keeps low-income families from surrendering or abandoning their pets,” explains the Gilmer Community Food Pantry.

And though GOODS is doing the heavy lifting, delivering all those cans and sacks of food, you’re funding it with your great taste. So, keep shopping to keep making a difference to families in need.

Rescuing cats is tough. Not every kitty that comes in off the street or out of the wild is healthy and hale. Some kitties come to care sick or injured. And an important part of their care is a nutritious diet. And because you shop with purrpose, you are a HUGE part of helping make sure rescue cats have all the food they need to heal and recover. In fact, you’re where the giving starts.

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals!

Good Help for Healing and Budgets

Friends of Metro Animal Shelters in Oklahoma know all about hungry kitties, too! These dedicated animal lovers have rescued thousands of animals, and many of the felines who arrive are in rough shape when they get ahold of them.

“We often pull animals that are not at their best health-wise,” explained Friends of Metro. “The GOODS program allows us to help feed them a better diet than what they get at the shelter, thus helping them heal/get healthy.”

Just recently, a mother and her nine kittens arrived in their care sick and in desperate need of care. Through foster magic, medication, and donated food, this sick family was able to recover. And because of the donations they receive, Friends of Metro has more money left in the budget for the veterinary care so many rescue cats need.

So, GOODS for the win. More food given equals more cash for medicine! And this charity windfall couldn’t happen without you, cat lover. Do a little shopping for a whole lot of good!

We talk all the time about ensuring cat rescues have plenty of cat food, but do you know what else shelters and foster homes need when caring for felines? Cat litter! And lots of it. As a cat lover, you know kitty litter can get expensive, especially when you’ve got so many cats and kittens in care. But you play a big part in being sure all those rescue cats have a pan and plenty of litter to poop in! Cats like tabby man Murphy appreciate your help in giving them a clean spot to do their business. Murphy’s caretakers at Planned PEThood of Georgia are also happy for the fresh litter when scooping the kitty business!

And it’s all because you shop with purrpose.

These GOODS Help Lead to Homes

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals! But it’s not just about the food. GOODS makes sure kitties get toys, collars, and that all important cat litter. And Murphy is thankful for all of it. He’s one of many kittens saved through Planned PEThood’s “Keep the Mama, Not the Drama” program.

A story often heard in the rescue world; Murphy came to the organization when a concerned cat lover contacted them for help about a mama cat caught in the kitten cycle.

“He had a mother cat who kept getting pregnant, then the kittens would too,” Planned PEThood explained. “What started as one kitty quickly bloomed into a small problem getting bigger every day. So we took Murphy and his kitten siblings into our rescue program.”

The rescue also happily reports that Murphy has become a foster fail! This cute tabby cat’s new mom shared that she and her grandchildren “have absolutely fallen for his adorable charms.”

Working Together

Planned PEThood of GA receives their GOODS donations via the Atlanta Humane Society’s Supply Share program, and the much-needed food, litter, toys, and other cat necessities make “a huge difference” for their foster families.

“We are able to routinely get supplies that are needed, but not necessarily budgeted for, such as new toys for foster homes, quality cat litter, new leashes and harnesses, and more. The program has been so successful, and so appreciated by our team, that as we get any excess donations at our rescue, we gratefully share them with AHS.”

“We hope to continue to ‘pay it forward’ as we can, and help other organizations with things like disposable gloves or poop bags, as we can.”

But it takes a team to make it all happen, and YOU are where it all starts. Every purchase means the world to a cat in need. So, treat yourself and your kitty, and keep saving lives!

Greater Good stray cats

Every time you shop at the iHeartCats store, some of that profit goes to Greater Good Charities, an organization that helps lots of animals in need. Through Greater Good Charities’ GOODS Program, food and other essential supplies are donated to animal shelters and rescues. These donations can be life-changing for many cats in need, such as the stray cats of Michigan.

Stray cats can multiply fast, and with so many cats wandering the streets, it’s hard for them all to find enough food. Luckily, there are plenty of animal lovers out there who care about these felines, such as a woman named Linda and her father.

When Linda and her father moved to a farm, they spotted two yellow eyes staring at them from the grass outside. When they looked closer, they saw a black kitten with bright yellow eyes crouched down in the grass. He was a feral kitten who refused to let them pick him up, but they named him anyway: Eyeballs.

Black kittens eating donated food

Linda’s dad has a soft spot for animals in need, so he would leave food out for Eyeballs. Soon, other stray cats showed up, so he fed them too. Eventually, litters of kittens appeared near the barn, causing Linda and her dad to realize that the cat population was getting out of hand. Linda was able to take some of the young kittens into her care and find homes for them, but all the adult cats were too fearful of humans to become pets.

The stray cats had food year-round, and they could stay in the barn for shelter when it got cold. However, feeding that many cats every day was a lot for Linda’s dad to handle, and it took a huge chunk out of his paycheck.

Seeking Help for the Cats

After about five years of feeding the cats, Linda and her dad found out about Branch Area Rescue Coalition (BARC), an organization that provides spay and neuter procedures. With the help of BARC, they got the stray cats fixed to better control the feline population. Before discovering BARC, Linda had no idea there were resources like that out there.

stray cat with food donation

Greater Good Charities also helps by donating cat food that Linda and her dad can use to feed the stray cats. Thus, they can keep the cats happy and healthy without having to break the bank. Most of them are now spayed/neutered because BARC was able to use traps to catch them and get them fixed.

“With the help of BARC, we have, quicker than I would have ever imagined possible, got the cat population stabilized, with grant money that BARC has allocated to us for the cats to be spayed and neutered,” Linda wrote. “The cats are all healthy, due to being fed good quality food because of your donations. So, thank you all very much on behalf of the cats, my father, and I.”

When you shop at the iHeartCats store, you’re helping cats in need get fed. So, thank you to all the heroes who have purchased products to help our feline friends.

Tina the cat lives a good life at Mystery’s Haven, a rescue in Michigan dedicated to bettering the lives of felines in need. While this tabby cat knows security and comfort now, her tale of rescue is a tough one, illustrating why cats need our help so much. But the dedicated rescue staff and volunteers couldn’t get out there and do the saving without your help.

Tough Start to Thriving in Sanctuary

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals who each have a story to share. This is Tina’s tale, and she wants you to know how much she appreciates your help.

Mystery’s Haven shared that Tina was found behind an EMS building in active labor. She’d already given birth to one kitten who had passed away, and another was on the way. Complicating the matter, “Tina appeared to have been hit by a car and wasn’t moving around much at all.”

Her road to recovery was a difficult one. But despite her ordeal, Tina is now thriving as a resident of Mystery’s Haven, the rescue revealing, “she uses the litter box exclusively now, navigates stairs and even goes in and out of the enclosed catio.”

“She loves her kitty friends, and she LOVES to eat!”

The food from the GOODS Program ensured this tough tabby had plenty to fill her tummy as she recovered and beyond. For Tina, a full bowl means happiness. She and Mystery’s Haven just can’t thank all the kind souls involved enough for giving her a chance to heal and find joy.

“Thanks so much to #meowmix and #greatergoodcharities we have plenty of yummy food to keep Tina and the other Sanctuary cats with full bellies always!”

And because there are always cats who need our help, the mission continues. So, get to shopping and keep saving kitty lives!

Minowz once called a feral cat colony home, but in caring for the clowder of wild kitties, a Feral Kitty Trapper Rescue volunteer discovered this fluffy tab would really make a great housecat. That discovery was made because of food donations you helped fund. How, you ask? By simply shopping with iHeartCats, that’s how!

Good Food Leads to Good Home

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals! When it’s feral cat colonies you’re feeding, you anticipate every delivery because those kitties can sure eat.

And it was during a kind lady’s feeding of a colony that Minowz stepped forward to show he was a cat who might enjoy a home. The colony caregiver swooped the big tabby right up and found a forever spot for the not-so-feral kitty. But without the food donations that enabled the care of the Minowz’s colony, this happy ending might never have come to pass.

As Tomika with Feral Kitty Trappers explained, “Without the food and supplies to feed feral cats, Minowz may not have been rescued.”

Just think; without funds, those food donations can’t happen. And that’s why YOU are such an important part of the rescue mission that sees cats like Minowz find their purrfect fit. So, keep shopping, cat lover; we’ve got lots more felines to save!
